Since its launch, the Acer Aspire One Netbook has been one of the best-selling netbook models around the world, and for good reasons too. The combination of a great design, a modest price tag and good features has made this model to be irresistible to many. This model comes with an Intel Atom N270 processor, a 160GB hard drive, and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. It has a gorgeous 10.1-inch LED back-lit screen that has a 1024 x 600 resolution. The battery can last up to an impressive 7.5 hours on one charge. The keyboard is very well designed and fells very good to type on for a netbook keyboard. The touch pad was also very fun to use as it supports a variety of multi-touch gestures. Since its launch, this model has been one of the most affordable in the market and it has remained so till today.

Currently, it retails for just around $299 per unit, which is a great bargain. Its sleek glossy design only adds to its appeal. Although the Acer Aspire One may not have high-end specs like those on the Asus 1005HA netbook or a big brand name like the Toshiba mini, it has proved itself to be a formidable competitor in the netbook market. If you are looking for a good looking, well-rounded and affordable netbook model, look no further than the Acer Aspire One netbook!

Apart of design student, most students need a laptop/netbook mainly for word processing, surfing the web and other light computing tasks. For that reason it makes sense for a student to get an affordable netbook model instead of a full-featured netbook. Here is a quick guide to some of the best netbook models based on your needs.

Best Budget Netbook Model: Currently, the Acer Aspire One is one of the cheapest models in the market. Despite its modest price tag, the Acer netbook does come with a set of competent specs that will be more than sufficient for a student.

This model has the standard Intel N270 Atom processor (1.6hz) and 1GB of RAM. The battery can last up to 6.5 hours on a single charge. Currently, the Acer Aspire One 10.1-inch netbook retails for around just $296 each.

Best Performance Netbook Model: If the student regularly does a lot of work on the netbook, it makes sense for him/her to get a more powerful netbook. For that, the Acer Aspire AS1410-8414 11.6-inch laptop would be a perfect choice. Although this is technically a laptop, its price and specs are more like those of a very powerful netbook.

The Acer Aspire AS1410-8414 11.6-inch laptop has a 1.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Solo ULV SU3500 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard rive. This specs combination makes it more powerful than a regular netbook. The keyboard is also slightly larger, making it more comfortable for prolonged typing. Currently, it retails for around $437 a piece.

Best Overall Netbook Model:If you plan to get the best netbook that money can buy, look no further than the Asus Eee PC 1005HA netbook. It is a 10.1-inch netbook that has some of the best specs and features in the market.

For instance, its battery can last up to 10.5 hours on a single charge. Other impressive specs include 802.11b/g/n wi-fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. It also sports a new design that looks really good. The Asus Eee PC 1005HA netbook currently costs around $354 each.
About the Author:

Asus Eee Pc 1005HA-PU1X Netbook: Asus has been on the top of this bestseller’s list for as long as I can remember. This is not surprising as they were one of the first manufacturers that came up with the netbook concept. The new Asus Eee Pc 1005HA sports a new stylish design, a better keyboard, coupled with the latest netbook specs. Like the Toshiba Mini, this model is powered by the Intel N290 (1.66GHz) processor. In addition to the 160GB of storage, Asus also offer an additional 10GB of online storage. There were also some big improvements in the keyboard of this model. It feels very good to type on and the large right-shift key greatly improves the typing experience. One of my favorite features on this model is that the battery can last up to an amazing 10.5 hours on a single charge. Selling points: Stylish Design, long battery life, great performance and high-end specs.

Acer Aspire One AOD150 Netbook: This netbook model is one of the oldest models on the bestseller’s list. When it comes to specs and features, it doesn’t exactly have the latest ones but yet, remains to be a favorite among consumers. Although it doesn’t come with extra features such as Bluetooth, 802.11 b/n wi-fi (it comes with 802.11b/g), and the latest processor (it runs on the Intel N270), it still functions very well as an entry-level netbook. It has a sleek and stylish design, comes in a variety of colors and most importantly, well priced. In fact, the Acer Aspire One is currently one of the cheapest netbooks in the market. Selling points: Stylish design and low price tag.

Toshiba Mini Netbook: The Toshiba Mini is currently the latest entry to the list, and looking at sales figures, it looks set to give Asus and Acer a good run for their money. For starters it has most of the high-end specs of the Asus 1005HA. It even has an astounding battery lifespan of 9 hours on a single charge, making it the closest competitor to the Asus model. The Toshiba Mini differentiates itself from other models in terms of design and features. For starters, the Toshiba Mini has a matte external casing as opposed to the common glossy surface. This makes it much easier to maintain, as it doesn’t get fingerprint stains as easily. The only thing that I didn’t like about the design is the protruding battery pack on the back of the device. Other than that, this model has a very professional look to it. It also incorporates a very cool USB feature where you can charge your devices even when the netbook is off or on stand-by mode. Selling feature: Design, unique features and battery life.
About the Author:
